Penetration Testing in Miami, FL
Miami has become the financial and logistics gateway between the United States and Latin America: the hedge funds, trading firms and asset managers that moved to Brickell since 2020, led by Citadel and Citadel Securities, and the banks of downtown and Coral Gables; the fintech, payments and digital-asset companies of Brickell and Wynwood; the three largest cruise groups in the world, Carnival Corporation, Royal Caribbean Group and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, all headquartered in Miami-Dade; the hospitality economy of Miami Beach and Brickell; Jackson Health System, Baptist Health South Florida, UHealth and Nicklaus Children's; PortMiami and Miami International Airport, the number-one US airport for international freight, with Ryder System and the freight forwarders of Doral behind them; the Latin American regional offices of Visa, Mastercard and dozens of other multinationals; the Spanish-language media hubs of Telemundo and TelevisaUnivision; and the universities of Coral Gables and West Miami-Dade. HackersHub runs offensive security engagements scoped to the threat model these organisations actually face: supply-chain and managed-service-provider compromise, business-email compromise and wire fraud against trading and treasury desks, ransomware against hospitals, hotels and cruise operations, and the Florida Information Protection Act, Florida Digital Bill of Rights, NYDFS 23 NYCRR 500, PCI DSS, HIPAA and SOC 2 evidence that regulators, sponsor banks, auditors and institutional customers now expect.

The Miami and South Florida threat landscape
Miami's defining incident reached far beyond the city. On 2 July 2021 the REvil ransomware group pushed ransomware through the on-premises VSA remote-monitoring product of Kaseya, a Miami-headquartered IT-management vendor, encrypting the downstream customers of managed service providers around the world; Kaseya said fewer than 60 of its direct customers and fewer than 1,500 downstream businesses were affected, and the attackers demanded USD 70 million for a universal decryptor. The case made managed-service-provider and software-supply-chain compromise the primary risk model for every small and mid-sized business in South Florida that outsources its IT. The cruise industry, headquartered here, has been through its own cycle: Carnival Corporation disclosed a 2019 email-account compromise affecting about 180,000 employees and guests, settled with 45 state attorneys general and the District of Columbia in 2022 for USD 1.25 million, and separately paid a USD 5 million penalty to the New York Department of Financial Services for four incidents, two of them ransomware, that the regulator attributed to missing multi-factor authentication and other failures under 23 NYCRR Part 500. Brickell's trading firms, hedge funds and family offices are a natural target for business-email compromise and wire fraud, and the fintech, payments and digital-asset companies that followed them face sponsor-bank due diligence, state money-transmitter examinations and, for those serving New York customers, the NYDFS cybersecurity regulation with its annual penetration-testing requirement in section 500.5. Hospital systems in Miami-Dade carry the clinical-ransomware exposure that has defined US healthcare since 2020, in a county where a single public system serves much of the population. PortMiami terminals and the cruise piers are MTSA-regulated facilities now under the Coast Guard's maritime cybersecurity rule, and cruise vessels themselves fall under the IMO's maritime cyber risk management resolution. Florida regulates the result through the Florida Information Protection Act of 2014 (Fla. Stat. 501.171), which requires every covered entity to take reasonable measures to protect personal information, to notify affected residents within 30 days of determining a breach and to notify the Department of Legal Affairs when 500 or more Floridians are affected; through the Florida Digital Bill of Rights (in force since 1 July 2024), which imposes comprehensive privacy duties on the largest technology and advertising-driven controllers and consent requirements for sensitive data on every business; and through a 2022 statute that bars state agencies and local governments from paying ransoms. Engagements in Miami routinely uncover remote-monitoring and management tools with standing administrative access across dozens of client networks, treasury and trade-settlement workflows that confirm payment-instruction changes by email alone, hotel property-management and point-of-sale segments reachable from guest Wi-Fi, shipboard and shoreside networks bridged through satellite links, and identity tenants in which regional Latin American subsidiaries inherit far more access than their risk profile warrants.

Why Miami organisations choose HackersHub
HackersHub is an Amsterdam-headquartered practitioner firm with no US office, and we model Miami engagements honestly around that. External, web-application, mobile, API and cloud testing is delivered remotely from the Netherlands, with devices shipped to our Amsterdam lab where the scope calls for it; internal network, Active Directory, wireless, shipboard, property and physical assessments are delivered on site in Miami-Dade, Broward and at PortMiami by travelling testers. Scoping calls, status updates and report walkthroughs are scheduled on US Eastern business hours. Every engagement is led by named OSCP-, OSWE- or CREST-certified offensive security professionals, with Michael van Mameren (OSCP) acting as engagement lead, and reports are written directly against FIPA, NYDFS Part 500, PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2 and SEC evidence categories. For companies that run Latin American operations from Miami, we test across US and regional subsidiaries in one engagement and report in English with Spanish or Portuguese executive summaries on request. Senior-level scoping calls happen within one business day.
